Among the Italian carmaker's upcoming cars is a hybrid supercar called the SF90 Stradale, while the Purosangue SUV is not expected for another couple of years at least.

<![CDATA[Ford v Ferrari releases in theatres on November 15, 2019]]>

Ford v Ferrari starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 15, 2019.

Ford v Ferrari is a story about one of the greatest rivalries in the history of motorsports. Back in the 1960s, Ferrari was dominating at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Henry Ford II decided to beat the Italians at their own game. He was assisted by Carroll Shelby who developed the car that would race the Ferraris.

Shelby had 90 days to build the race car, which was called the Ford GT40. Eventually, in 1966, Ford went on to win Le Mans with Bruce McLaren and Chris Amon at the wheel. The GT40 won 24 Hours of Le Mans again in 1967, 1968 and 1969.

<![CDATA[UK: Diesel cars to be banned in Bristol city centre]]>

According to a media report, the Bristol City Council has approved plans to ban private diesel cars in the city centre between 7 am and 3 pm everyday. To enter Britain's first no-diesel zone, vans and taxis would be charged GBP 9 and buses and HGVs will have to pay GBP 100. The proposal is pending government approval.

The proposal expects to create a 'Clean Air Zone' and will be implemented in 2021. It is expected to reduce the nitrogen dioxide levels to legal limits by 2025. The government had ordered the Bristol City Council to produce plans to bring the area's nitrogen dioxide levels to legal limits.

The report suggests that major roads that lead in and out of the city will be inaccessible for diesel cars and other roads could become congested. The ban on diesel cars could also affect those who have taken finance packages and may have to pay a penalty to end the contract early. Owners of older cars would also be forced to upgrade to newer vehicles.

<![CDATA[Uber India losses to hit almost 4,000 crore rupees!]]>

According to a media report, Uber India is projected to post revenue of Rs. 339 crore for its ride-hailing service and a negative of Rs. 762.5 crore for its food delivery service for the five month period between August and December 2019. During the same period, the operating loss is projected to be Rs. 2,197 crore for its food delivery business and 1,645 crore for the rides business, bringing the total to Rs. 3,842 crore.

The report suggests that the negative revenues maybe because the commission revenues are lower than the cost of delivery, high refunds to consumers and Uber paying restaurants which don't give discounts. Uber claims that India is a market where they are funding the eater, the courier as well as the restaurant in terms of building the business.

Globally, Uber's quarterly results show marginal gain in bookings and monthly active users. Uber beat its quarterly revenue and loss estimates and improved its annual loss forecast. The ride-hailing service is looking to turn a profit by 2021. The company posted an adjusted loss of US$ 585 million, while analysts' estimates were US$ 808 million. Shares also fell 5% after the results.

The company is looking to reduce spending, cut around 1,200 jobs, reduce rider discounts and driver incentives and could also exit from a few markets. More services like bikes, scooters, helicopters, public transportation, as well as food and grocery delivery could help Uber post a profit.

Honda has unveiled the 2020 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade at EICMA 2019.

The 2020 Fireblade is based on a new aluminium frame. It measures 2,100 mm in length, 745 mm in width, 1,140 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,455 mm.

The 2020 Fireblade features new LED headlights with a ram-air duct in the centre. The redesigned fairing incorporates winglets similar to those found on Honda's MotoGP bike. The fuel tank is positioned lower for a more compact riding position. The bike gets a new 5-inch digital instrument cluster, stepped seat and a single side-mounted titanium exhaust.

Powering the CBR1000RR-R is a new 999cc, in-line 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 215 BHP @ 14,500 rpm and 113 Nm @ 12,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.

The bike features 43 mm Showa upside down front forks and a Showa monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by dual 330 mm discs with 4-piston calipers at the front and a single 220 mm disc with a 2-piston caliper at the rear.

The CBR1000RR-R comes with launch control, ABS and traction control with 9 settings.
